Does hand sanitizer work? It didnt 4 my science fair experiment?
I bought the glo germ mini kit with the light and lotion. Its a simulation of germs and when i tested germ x hand sanitizer there were still germs on my hands. But the hand soap did work if icould get an explanation that would be great.
Glo Germ doesn't contain any active germs for hand sanitizer to kill - it's just fancy hand dye to check you've cleaned your hands correctly. It doesn't highlight the germs that are already there, it just colours your hands with UV sensitive dye, so you can test your ability to wash it off with soap and water.
However, with hand sanitizer, you don't remove the dye - you don't wash anything off so it still all stays on your hands. It will, however, kill most of the germs on your hands, but it won't wash off dye unless you rinse afterwards.
